Thinking of Getting Your Eyeliner Permanently Applied?
Maybe you hate applying your eyeliner daily, or you aren’t able to apply it as precisely as you’d like, or perhaps you hate the constant struggle of trying to achieve the perfect cat-eye. Whatever your reasons, you may find a solution in permanent eyeliner here at Wake Up To Makeup.
Is permanent eyeliner just like a traditional tattoo?
First of all, it’s important to note that permanent eyeliner isn’t permanent (more on that later). It’s just the term that the industry uses, and is more accurately semi-permanent. If you want to get technical, it’s considered permanent because the pigment will remain in the skin forever, but the longevity of the color and its visibility will eventually fade.
How long does the procedure take?
It depends on a few things like how thick the client wants it, and if they wish to traditional eyeliner. It can take one hour, but clients should expect to be there for about two hours — this including for the numbing process, which takes about 30 minutes. For a thicker eyeliner line, it could take two and a half to three hours.
Does permanent eyeliner hurt?
Wake Up To Makeup uses a tattoo machine, which is less invasive than the Soft Tap method which is done by hand. Numbing cream is applied to the area before the actual procedure. Once the effects of the cream kick in, the whole process is pretty painless. However, everyone has a different pain tolerance, which means some people might find the procedure to be only minimally uncomfortable, while others may find it to be a bit more painful.
How long does it last?
Permanent makeup will last forever, but It will fade over time because the pigment is made with inorganic and organic minerals and that is affected by the sun also our skin exfoliates. That is why we offer yearly refreshes to keep your permanent makeup looking its best!
The “tattooed” eyeliner pigment will eventually fade. We recommend come back after about a year to get a refresh. If you ultimately decide you don’t want the eyeliner, it can disappear in three to five years completely. Everyone’s skin holds the pigment differently, so it’s tough to say how long it will take for the liner to become invisible.
How much does it cost?
Having your eyeliner applied this way doesn’t come cheap. The initial application will typically run anywhere from $400 to $700, depending on what you’re looking for. A tight line form will generally be less expensive than the thicker eyeliner. As for yearly refreshes, those typically cost around $200 to $400.
